Tabuik ceremony is an annual related-religion celebration to welcome Muharram or Islamic new year. Held in Pariaman, about 1 hour from the capital city of West Sumatra province around early or mid-September (Depends on Islamic calendar).
Tabuik is actually a colorful coffin-shaped made from rattan and bamboo which carried by locals people together and float it through the sea. The festival is considered as sacred one by local people with consist of 7 consecutive rituals.
The rituals include obtaining soil, cutting off a banana tree, Mataam, Maarak Jari Jari, Maarak Sorban, Tabuik Naiak Pangkek, Hoyak Tabuik, and releasing Tabuik to the sea as final ritual.

Fahombo Batu in Nias island, North Sumatra
Fahombo or stone jumping is a culture performed by a young man dressed in national costume in order to prove he has reached maturity or become a man.
The boys in their teenage must be passed jumping over 2 meters (6.5 ft) pyramid of stacked boulders. For those who are not passed the test will be performing again the other year till they got succeed jumping the stone.
This festival is visited by local people dressing in traditional costume especially the boy’s family watching them perform.
Fahombo now becomes a tourist attraction where many visitors both local and international watch the ceremony because there are also several traditional performances before actual Fahombo begin that you can enjoy too. Just make sure to watch this performance if you are traveling to Indonesia.
Ngurek in Bali
For those who are familiar with Bali island may knows this kind of ritual, Ngurek is one of the unique rituals that can visitors watch. Ngurek is actually an extreme tradition where people hurt themselves by stabbing their body with keris, a traditional knife.
This ritual is aimed to serve to a god called “ Sang Hyang Widi Wasa” where some villages in Bali practice the possession. However, because of its dangerous and suicidal activity, only those who have reached a culmination of spiritual consciousness are allowed to perform.

Tomohon international flower in Sulawesi
Tomohon international flower is an annual ceremony where local people participate to win the flower tournament. This parade is held along the major road of Tomohon city displaying decorated and colorful flower.

Pasola can be defined as war reenactment with horses ceremony held every year from February to March in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. Two group of men with a traditional costume from upper and lower village holding war spears while reading their horses.
In the game, both groups throw their spears at each other until one of them lose and surrender. This tradition is also considered as a blood sacrifice and thanksgiving ceremony to their ancestors.
